IMMERSION

A Collaboration between students at the University of Seville and West Virginia University

Spring 2024

In a dynamic collaboration, students from the University of Seville and West Virginia University came together in 2024 to explore the intersection of emerging technology and global perspectives.

This year’s project aimed to demonstrate how digital tools can serve as bridges between cultures.

By working across continents, students used technology not just to communicate, but to create meaningful, culturally rich experiences that reflect our increasingly connected world.

While continuing to embrace innovation, each of our four teams this year focused on the storytelling potential of artificial intelligence. Using ChatGPT, students were able to co-write narratives, generate dialogue, and enhance creative expression across languages and traditions.

One of our teams came with a very cool idea...

BOB THE BOXER

Ready... FIGHT!

Making a short film has never been this much fun! Our project was all about creating a film using some cool Artificial Intelligence tools to help us along the way. We used ChatGPT to help write the script and brainstorm story ideas, which made the whole creative process way smoother. We also played around with Luma to generate some AI-powered video clips. 🤖

Our story is about those things we think we still need to achieve... Only to realize, in the end, that they were our biggest accomplishements all along. What made it even more special was working together from two different parts of the world: West Virginia and Sevilla. 🌍 pWe joined forces to build a story inspired by some of the greatest films out there. 🎥🎖

Once the script was ready and all the clips came together, we jumped into editing and... TADAAH!! The video to left is what we got! 🎉

And still, we got another cool project in our hands!

TIME LOOP

Sometimes going in circles takes you further.

TIME LOOP was all about teamwork, storytelling, and using a bit of AI to spice things up. We started with a bunch of ideas and finally landed on a short film about personal growth through repetition—a time loop that pushes you forward.

ChatGPT helped us shape the script, and while the U.S. team took charge of filming and editing, we all collaborated to guide the creative vision. Working across Seville and West Virginia made the process even more exciting.

We also had fun planning how to share the film online—through reels, clips, and even a LinkedIn post. 🎬

In the end, this project showed us how AI tools can boost creativity and how powerful collaboration can be when everyone brings something to the table.egan with a simple question: What connects us all? The answer was clear – our shared love of music. 🎧

And finishing things off...

PASSENGER

No GPS can reroute this horror.

For this project, we wanted to dive into horror. Our story follows two friends on a road trip… but things take a dark turn fast. 😱

We used Wonder Studio to transform the driver into a terrifying robot, giving the story a creepy, unexpected twist. For the eerie environments, we turned to Luma, which helped us create some hauntingly surreal spaces that really set the mood.

It was all about mixing storytelling with tech—and honestly, seeing our horror vision come to life through AI made it even more fun (and creepy). 🎥🤖
