The Woman in Pearls
The End
Evelyn Hart turns, smiling softly.
EVELYN
You made it.
Oliver’s breath shudders. He’s been here before. A thousand times.
OLIVER
I can’t stop it, can I?
She shakes her head, and touches her necklace, made of perfect white pearls.
EVELYN
No.
A silence. He finally understands.
Instead of fighting, instead of running, he does something different.
He holds her hand.
OLIVER
I’m sorry.
She squeezes his fingers. She fades. The room fades.
EXT. PARK – MORNING (NEEDS ONE MORE SCENE?)
Oliver wakes up on a bench. The sun is shining, making the water in front of him sparkle.
He pats his pockets. The note? Gone. The phone? Silent.
For the first time in forever, he breathes—and walks forward.
